North Cliff Walk

The North Cliff walk was long, but really fun and action-packed.

There is parking available for the North Cliff Walk outside the residents’ homes. There is a sign outside that will guide you to a parking spot, either beside the hedge or on a patch of grass across the road. From the parking area, you can see a grand church.

The trail begins quite close to the parking area, in fact, just down the road. It begins with a steep, gravel path uphill, which doesn’t last for very long.

After the uphill path, the next road is still quite bumpy and gravelly, however, it is quite flat.

After this path, there is another walk through a myriad of trees and plants.

Some of the path was muddy, so I would recommend walking boots to protect your feet from the soggy ground. When we visited, most of the floor was dry, but, if it has been raining, it will be much more squelchy.

There were also lots of stinging nettles and other weeds, so be careful you don’t get pricked!

We found that there are entrances through the trees, but they don’t usually lead anywhere. There was so much to be explored!

There was loads of wildlife on the path and in the trees; we saw birds, bees and more!

After you have gotten through the trees, you should come across another gravel path. That should lead you onto a farm, which the owners are kind enough to let people through and continue their walk.

Once you are through the farm, follow another path. We stopped for a while because we saw a linnet perched on the barriers!

The last part of the walk is through a field of cows. Walk downhill to the gate at the bottom. Be careful: the hill is quite bumpy!

The gate leads back to the road, which you can walk on the side of to get back to the carpark.
